As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to establish and lead Family Law services within our practice. While our firm has an established reputation in Corporate and Commercial Law, Employment Law, Wills and Estates, Estate Administration, Residential and Commercial Real Estate, and Notary Services; Family Law represents an important new chapter in our strategic growth. About the Opportunity:

This is more than a traditional associate role. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, values client relationships, and is motivated by the opportunity to develop a thriving Family Law portfolio within a well-established firm.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a broad range of family law matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Parenting and decision-making responsibility
  • Child and spousal support
  • Property division
  • Domestic contracts
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, case conferences, settlement conferences, motions, and court proceedings.
  • Provide practical, strategic, and compassionate legal advice tailored to each client's circumstances.
  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, financial statements, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across our Corporate, Employment, Real Estate, and Wills and Estates practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions for clients.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • A minimum of three years' experience practising Family Law in Ontario.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a family law caseload.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Experience with family court procedures and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation.
